Esalen® Massage is a healing art form, evolved over 45 years at the Esalen Institute in Big Sur, California. Influenced by the rhythms of the Pacific Ocean, this form of touch engages all the senses and offers deep connectedness and relaxation to both giver and receiver. This workshop invites participants to explore the world of Essential Touch, incorporating the basic principles of a good massage: grounding & centering, moving from the core, quality of touch, and using breath to bridge the connection between giver and receiver.
One of the key elements of this art form is to access one's vital essence, then tap into the flowing, creative energy present in a living body and let one's massage rhythm emerge from that experience. We will include technique, especially the Esalen signature moves, along with deeper work, as participants are ready.
Ellen Watson is celebrating her 24th year on staff at Esalen Institute, where she studies, practices, and teaches various modalities of moving meditation practice.
The workshop is 18 hours. Cost is $300 for early registration (pay in full one month before the workshop) and $325 paying day of the workshop ($25 to reserve space).
CEUs available, please request upon reqistration.
